War World demo released

<p><i>Lighthouse Interactive</i> and <i>Third Wave Games</i> today released a playable demo for their upcoming game "War World". The demo allows features single and multi-player death match modes with all weapons available for play. However the demo is restricted to one map and one mech.</p><img alt="War World" hspace="10" vspace="10" align="left" src="http://70.84.36.132/~btuadmin/media/Oth ... pg"><p>The full game is scheduled for release across Europe next week.</p><p>The demo, which weighs in at around 103MB, can be downloaded <a target="new" href="http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php ... 0">HERE</a>, although by now the demo has spread across the net to other sites as well!</p><p>To quote the <a target="new" href="http://www.warworld.net/index.htm">official game site</a>:</p><p><i>"War World is a planet wide arena dedicated to the art of war. This is the chosen battleground where powerful Mechanized Warriors compete in savage battles to settle age old conflicts. War World features intense combat with 50 different weapons systems from long-range missiles and mortars, through to the brutal, close-action mini gun. More than just brute force, players will need to utilize a wide range of electronic weapons systems, countermeasures, and advanced surveillance technologies to win the battle. War World, it’s the Ultimate Combat experience!"</i></p><p>So go on and give the demo a try. It's not strictly Battletech as we know it, but you never know - you might like it!</p>

The servers are probably packed out I'd guess. Hunt around a bit - the file has been mirrored on multiple other sites as well.
