Awesome trailer. If the movie continues with same quality as the trailer it will be a hit.
Makes me want to sign up for a class there.

thanks for your efforts - unfortunately its a block on quicktime files and not the download itself - perhaps someone is trying to tell me I should work and not persue my passion...

Unless you can convert it Windows Format - I will have to wait.

I can't wait to see the entire movie! One can only hope that if this does well enough we will continue to see the Battletech/Mechwarrior franchise expand...Nice to see the Ovelord in there as well...

Its time to play guess that mech!

Ok...

We of course got a Republic Altas (the goalie version)

the quads were Thunderfoxes

A Morningstar Mobile HQ vehicle

There was also a Battlemaster not sure if it was Republic or Wolf Hunter though

Wolf Hunter had

Kerensky's Mad Cat Mk IV
a ton of Jackolopes (they're so cute, like an easter bunny crossed with a vorpal rabbit)
a Mad Cat Mk I (that the Atlas wastes)
A Mangonel (I really like that design, hopefully Wizkids will release them as non-unigues in Vanguard)
a Yash VTOL
Tokugawa Heavy Tank (another model that the Wolf hunters don't have game pieces for)
Angerona BA

It looked like an Auroa class dropship but it contained a lot more Jackalopes then I thought possiable. But then the Jackies can fold up to save space.

What impresses me the most is the work they did on the humans. Hopefully they'll release the movie to general view shortly after orgins and Gen-Con.

Am I the only one who's not impressed? The models themselves look stunning. Everything cramped in close like that looks ridiculous. And the live action shots look like...remember that fan-made SW movie from last year?

I don't mean to be a killjoy here, but I was really expecting more.

hehe. I want to see a saving private ryan/band of brothers movie set in the BT universe. but I'm not the one who gets to make those decissions.

Anyway, loved the trailer, and can't wait to see the finished product. the guys at dave school really outdone themselves with this one.

If you watch any of their other stuff, you'll know what I mean.

With all due respect, you have to remember this is a "student project" not a professional film by a CGI firm. True Hollywood CGI that doesn't "look plastic" takes lots of $$$ and tons of development time. And unless I'm wrong this film will be free.

If you can to donate the hordes of money needed for a better film, I can do some research and get the appropriate contact info for you.

Folks,
It looks pretty cool, I am sure it isn't going to please everyone, but if you have constructive criticism, why not relay it to the people doing the film, I would think that constuctive advice would be welcome. If the people doing it have any pride at all, they want to turn out as good a film as humanly possible. Constructive advice from the BT audience is invaluable, and maybe you could become a "Techinical Advisor" for them.

Besides, this is better than nothing, does not mean we have to "settle" but lets keep it all in perspective, it could mean wider exposure for our beloved game, if it is accepted well, it will encourage more work on BT.

While it is not perfect it is pretty damn good considering who is making it. This isn't a big budget movie made by some movie moguls (but they may make an absolute worse mess). I think this is a damn fine little project.

Don't we all. Don't we all!

Have patience it may prove to be very nice when it is done.

The live action shots looking...poor I'm perfectly willing to forgive.

The mechs themselves are awesome. They're amazingly well done models with great textures, great detail, awesome "special effects" (weapons fire) and it looks cool watching them stomp around.

But choosing to cram as many mechs on the screen at one time as possible so they're all about 5 feet from each other looks stupid. Even Mech Commander 1 & 2 had better spacing.

And that's my complaint.

Ah, okay, I see what you mean now, Justicar. Yes, that is a complaint. It didn't bother me but I guess I was just thrilled to see something that seemed to be going in the right direction and was willing to forgive the minor problems.

Also, I am not sure how familiar everyone involved in the project is with BT and MW so they may make a few errors. But praise for a damn fine looking project should be given, which you have done.

Do they have a place for comments on their work? If they don't they should, afterall if they are going to school to learn to make movies and such, they should get used to the criticism that comes with the job. If they do, then all of our learned BTers could offer up such suggestions as Justicar's too many things at one time...too busy...as I said, it may benefit them (constructive criticism) and help our cause as well.
