MEMBERSHIP AWARDS.
The "Distinguished Service" and "Valued Member" awards voting threads are up and ready to vote on. So please take a minute to vote for the person you best feel exemplifies the award.
NOTE: because of various circumstances I have taken off the CBills awards until further notice and the requirement that the nominee be a subscriber. These will go under review in the future when changes are made to the subscriber system and the BTU account is able to support the CBill system. I hate dropping it but it has to be done at this time.
NOTE #2: if anyone for whatever reason feels more comfortable sending their vote to me via PM please do so. Otherwise vote on the appropriate thread.
Cheers and best of luck to the nominees.

I also get to hand out two awards;
#1 - Staff Commendation
"The Staff Commendation [SC] award is set aside for active Staff Members of BTU. The SC is awarded by the BTU Administrator once a year to Staff Members who have performed above and beyond their roles. Staff members are held to a higher degree of participation, and as such, it requires exceptional contributions from a Staff member to be selected for this award. The SC award demands a high degree of respect from other Staff members and BTU members alike. SC recipients have a requirement of a minimum of 6 months of being active on Staff. Other criteria will be a review of the candidates level of forum participation, additional contribution (albeit via subscription, donation, or other method), and overall commitment to improving the BTU site."
I am pleased to give my first "Staff Commendation" award to thecircus.
Jeff has since his return been actively trying to do all he can to help me out and look for ways to make BTU friendly place for us to visit. He has also continued to work on the BTU TRO which has long been on the back burner for a lot of us.
So, I have to give this one to Jeff aka thecircus. Congratulations, big guy!
I am also going to give a "Staff Commendation" award to Lawgiver for continuing to support BTU and to provide the BT community with a place to go to fuel our BT gaming .... ummmm ..... needs.
Cheers and thanks always Jason aka Lawgiver.
#2 - Legion of Honor
"The Legion of Honor [LoH] award is set aside for very outstanding members who have proven a long history of solid positive performance and high levels of participation on BTU. LoH recipients are awarded once a year. Members who receive this award should be respected for their monumental contributions to the Battletech community. A member’s level of contribution both at the BTU site as well as their general level of contribution within the whole community can and will be considered. There are several specific requirements before even being considered for this award. A minimum of six (6) months of BTU site membership is required. If a member meets these requirements during the LoH award review period, they will be considered. The LoH award status awarded solely by the Administrator of BTU, and the above requirements plus your overall level of BTU participation will be reviewed."
This one is also my first and causes me some trepidation handing it out, you'll see why. However, I asked the staff for recommendations and of the ones I received most mentioned this member's name. So, and with embarrassment and a big thank you to all who suggested this member, I award the Legion of Honor to Typhoon.
Several members made a point to mention that I stepped up when we were at a low point in BTU's life. I was thrust into the position I am now in but have taken it on and tried to return the site to life. I hope and think I have done that for the most part. I have tried to be here for anyone needing my attention or requiring advice or another point of view.
I am hoping that our membership can continue to be as lively and contribute as greatly as you have over the past few months. It is you folks that make me want to come back every day, to continue to post messages, and to try to do the job I am in to the best of my ability. It may not be done perfectly but I am trying to get there!
So thank you all for making the past year a good one and for allowing me to work with you to bring our site back. I greatly appreciate everyone's contributions. Cheers!
More award announcements forthcoming! So stay tuned.

Congratulations to thecircus and Lawgiver for your awards, and especially to Typhoon for taking on the enormous task of running BTU.
I tip my hat to you all, a job well done.

Thanks folks. But I really have you all to commend for helping get us back to this point. I could have done a lot to no avail without all of you contributing to BTU's comeback.
So, thanks for the congratulations and a big thank you for supporting BTU. Much appreciated.
